Painting done from photo taken at Grand Provence a farm just outside Franschoek near Cape Town. The twin primavera done by Marieke Prinsloo in the forefront.....statues of two different girls/ladies and seperate but also bounded in dance - to me the individualism of friends....separate, but bounded by friendship.

Family Property

Napier Plasie - which means "Napier (small) farm" - owned by my mother-in-law's family - lots of sentiment, lots of memories.....and lots of love - stability and family.

Autumn (In Stellenbosch)

This piece of art - oil on canvas was done as an assignment for art class as part of a trio/triptiek which we did as a group effort with each following his/her own style of painting, but the 3 as a whole should depict a poem/song etc. The old poem/song of Autumn Leaves inspired us to do these paintings....I will also put up the other 2 when I get their permission to do so.

I really enjoyed doing this, building up the leaves from bare branches, and working on the various aspects of the painting which makes it just that more special to me and perhaps to the viewer as well.....if you know Stellenbosch, this is from a photo taken by myself of Victoria Street opposite Majuba and Grote Griet, University accommodation.

It was odd to be almost voyeuristic in taking the photos, but the day was so colourful despite the drizzle that I simply had to have the photo's.

This picture was the first to be sold at an auction - I didn't like parting with it....but I did. Something I have to get used to.

This painting done after staying a week in St Germaine, Paris. Out of the window of the apartment.... Photo taken with my cellphone. It was May 2008 and raining most of the time - and Paris was wonderful - as always.

This is an image which my brother-in-law took in Beaune in Bordeaux, France. The cellar doors open to the outside and is typically french blue in colour....it's done in pastels and was sold at an auction in 2008. I loved doing it.
